IrelandQCI Quantum & Answers Trailer LIVE at The 8th Annual ESA ScyLight Conference
The IrelandQCI Quantum & Answers Trailer was LIVE at the 8th Annual European Space Agency – ESA ScyLight Conference 2025, held 3th – 5th June 2025 at one of Ireland’s greatest landmarks – The Aviva Stadium! ✨
It was a fantastic opportunity to exhibit the IrelandQCI Quantum & Answers Trailer at the prestigious ESA Connectivity and Secure Communications ScyLight Conference, with over 250 industry experts coming together in Dublin, from across Europe. IrelandQCI was proud to be an event partner, and delighted to welcome participation from our consortium partners across the week including Professor Peter O’Brien, Head of Research Group, Tyndall National Institute at University College Cork.

IrelandQCI PI and Director of Research at Walton Institute Dr Deirdre Kilbane introduced IrelandQCI Research Assistants Jimí Ó Baoill de Faoite + Dillon Broaders who demonstrated the BB84 equipment on board the IrelandQCI Q & A Trailer, and outlined the engagement plans ahead for the Q & A Trailer as we prepare to showcase at further national events, promoting the benefits of quantum communication.
The ScyLight Conference continued across the first week of June, with a stellar line up of innovative speakers and workshops taking place. 97% of participants were from a European Space Agency Member State, with 25% haling from Ireland – attendees contributed to the conference from across academia, industry and government agencies.
Throughout the event, participants…
✅Heard from thought leaders and learned of the latest trends in optical and quantum communications – as well as exploring what’s new in photonics.
✅Learned of successful missions and future plans from industry
✅Explored new cooperation opportunities as well as the latest relevant technology and product developments.
✅Met the community, ScyLight team members, ESA executives, and national delegates to European Space Agency – ESA.
✅Got up to speed with the latest on ESA’s plans for optical and quantum communications.
